Forgotten No More: Polish American Veterans of the Blue Army of General Haller
On June 17th, the Polish Institute of Culture & Research at Orchard Lake, along with representative of Polonia from across the USA and Canada, Their Excellencies Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron and Bishop Robert Fisher, Fr. Bernard Witek, SDS, representatives of the Polish and Canadian governments, and current and retired members of the Polish and American Armed Forces, dedicated the new gravestones of Blue Army Soldiers at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
The previously unmarked graves were provided new gravestones through the assistance of Poland’s Institute for National Remembrance thanks to the dedication and years of effort by Mrs. Henrietta Nowakowski.
To learn more about this event, the men buried in the “Polish Soldiers’ Cemetery,” and how the veterans were finally recognized, you may download the complete program booklet which contains historical articles and biographies of the soldiers at the link below.

We also invite to view the documentary film “The Voice from the Graves” by Alicja Karlic, editor of the Polish Media Center and the Polish Weekly on YouTube.
