Polish Poster School:  An Eye on Film

The Polish School of Poster Art was highly influential on the development of international graphic design in the 20th century and is seen as an expression of political and social dissent.  Professor Jarek Bujny from the University of Warmia and Mazury, will show and provide background for the works of the Polish Poster School’s most important designers. There will be particular emphasis on movie posters in the context of the films for which they were created, the means of expression used in their design, including visual metaphors.  Free to the public with livestream provided at the Ann Arbor District Library

This presentation kicks off a full week of celebrating Polish cinema and art with the Ann Arbor Polish Film Festival, November 13-16.  With a full program of newly premiered feature films, short films and documentaries, Children’s Program, along with a unique event focusing on Polish d/Deaf Cinema, there’s something for everyone.  Tickets are now available online.
