We believe this story deserves a full house here as well. \nFollowing the screening\, guests will have the rare opportunity to meet filmmaker Patrick Ney during a special post-screening discussion and reception. \nAbout the Film \nThe film explores the tragic and often overlooked fate of Poland’s anti-communist resistance fighters\, known as the Cursed Soldiers\, who continued their struggle after the end of World War II. While much of Europe celebrated peace in 1945\, many Polish patriots found themselves facing a new occupation imposed by the Soviet Union. \nThrough survivor testimony\, historical records\, and extensive research\, Covenant of Blood reveals how these men and women were imprisoned\, tortured\, executed\, and erased from history for refusing to surrender their dream of a free Poland. \nCreated independently by Patrick Ney and Stefan Tompson and funded entirely through public support\, the documentary sheds light on one of the most compelling and least understood chapters of twentieth-century European history. \nAn Additional Special Presentation \nGuests will also experience a moving companion documentary\, 947 Days\, a short film telling the extraordinary story of Witold Pilecki\, the Polish resistance hero who voluntarily entered Auschwitz to gather intelligence on Nazi atrocities from within the camp. \nFor 947 days\, Pilecki endured imprisonment while organizing resistance\, documenting crimes\, and transmitting information to the outside world.
